Drew was born and raised in the Charleston area. He graduated from Wando High School in 2005, Clemson University in 2009, and the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2012. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Edgar W. Dickson in Orangeburg, SC. He then spent over 5 years at the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Charleston where he prosecuted over 1200 cases, including DUIs, property and drug offenses, burglaries, robberies, and murders. In his time at the Solicitor’s Office, he tried approximately 30 jury trials. For his last 4 years there he was a strong advocate for victims, exclusively prosecuting stalking and harassment, domestic violence, and sexual assault cases through a grant under the Violence Against Women Act. In 2018 he left the Solicitor’s Office to go into private practice, focussing on civil litigation and criminal defense.
He joined the HawkLaw Firm in 2020 and continues to enjoy being a strong trial advocate for his clients, currently focusing his practice on personal injury litigation in South Carolina Courts and the Federal District of South Carolina.
He lives with his wife and son on James Island where they are active members of the James Island Presbyterian Church. In his free time, Drew enjoys singing with the Charleston Men’s Chorus, cooking and eating the delicious food South Carolina and Charleston have to offer, and pulling for the Clemson Tigers!
